Our target is to recycle (by weight) 85% of all vehicles dismantled by us. This includes all plastics through a trade associate to ensure maximum recyclability.
End Of Life Vehicle Disposure
The End-of Life vehicles Directive (2000/53/EC), adopted on 20th October 2000, aims to prevent waste from end-of life vehicles and promote the collection, re-use and recycling of their components to protect the environment. ELV's have been identified as a waste stream that the European Union considers should receive priority attention.
The first version of a European law (Directive) regulating ELV disposal emerged in 1997 and after much heated debate and lobbying by car manufacturers, finally became European law in October 2000.
This new legislation introduces a range of strict regulations for everybody involved in the manufacture, use and disposal of motor vehicles.
An electronic copy of the Directive is available from the European Commission's website: www.europa.eu.in
